What is Geocaching?
Geocaching combines the old-fashioned treasure hunt with modern technology and is catching on The sport is only 12yrs old and already has an estimated over five millian geochachers around the globe.
Perthshire has over 1000 geocache sites making it the capital of Scotland for geocaching.
Players try to locate hidden containers, called caches, using handheld GPS systems or GPS-enabled mobiles and then share their experiences online at geocaching.com. Caches can vary in size from nano (minuscule) to large and contain small collectable items such as geocoins, toys, badges and key rings.
Some cache's travel the world asking people to try and take them in the direction of the end destination.
